Fertilizer for Banana Trees
Fertilizer is one of the most important factors for any kind of vegetable or fruit. If you wish to have a great yield at the end of the season, you must use fertilizer or organic fertilizer. For banana trees, there is no difference. If you wish to grow bananas faster, you have to use various kinds of fertilizer and organic fertilizer. Is a banana tree required to have compost-mixed soil before planting? Well, the answer is no. Banana trees don’t require any kind of compost-mixed soil before planting; banana trees can basically grow in any kind of soil. For banana trees, there are actually three essential factors: one is sunlight, and the other two are water and organic fertilizer. Banana trees benefit from extra feedings of organic fertilizer such as chicken manure, organic blood meal, or natural manures from your own animals. I recommend using compost every two or three months, especially in warm seasons and main crop-growing seasons. All you need to do is throw three or four handfuls of organic fertilizer at the base of the tree. As for the winter season, you can stop using compost or continue. As for me, I do not use that much compost in winter because the cool season affects the growth of banana trees. That means even if you use as much compost as in other seasons, the banana tree will still grow slowly.
